To mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women,the 25. November, women’s and human rights groups have organized a Walk of Light led by prominent public figures carrying torches and sparklers. The Walk of Light will start at the National Cultural House at 19:00 and end in front of the sculpture Sungaliot facing the Imagine Peace Tower.

The Icelandic Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers organizes a Nordic conference on gender and power in Reykjavik November 18-19, 2009. The conference is co-organized by The Nordic Gender Institute, NIKK.
