In Iceland people who are being abused or subjected to violence on behalf of their current or former partner can get a variety of support and assistance. The circumstances of each individual are different, so it's important to present all the different resources you can look for in order to get the support you need at any given time.

Last year, the police received 890 reports of domestic violence and 251 persons stayed in the Women's Shelter. It is the goal of this project to ensure that all persons in need receive information that there is hope for a better life and that we as a community want to combine forces against violence and provide support for survivors, perpetrators and their families in the most difficult times.

If in doubt, always call 112 and you will be redirected to the correct help provider.
