Zero Tolerance

The seminar Zero Tolerence, was held on the 25th of September, as part of the programme for the Icelandic Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2014.

The seminar focused on the Istanbul Convention (on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence) and obligations it imposes on countries committed to fighting domestic violence. Various projects and analysis were discussed in order to give insight into successful implementation of efforts to prevent domestic violence.

The event was jointly organised by The Ministry of Welfare in Iceland, The Ministry of the Interior in Iceland, The Centre for Gender Equality, Iceland, in cooperation with the Nordic Council of Ministers. Combating gender-based violence has been one of the main priorities of the Nordic Council of Ministers in Nordic co-operation on gender equality issues.
